The Tripp Lite U215-002 2-Port USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Printer/Peripheral Sharing Switch eliminates the cost and effort of picking out and buying two printers, two scanners, two hard drives, etc., as well as the problem of where to put them and their cables.

The U215-002 switches computers automatically whenever one sends a print command. All data is sent from the active printer buffer before switching ports, so there’s no danger of a document being cancelled before it finishes printing. You can easily switch from one computer to the other using a mouse, keyboard hotkey or the buttons on top of the unit. A taskbar icon and LEDs on the unit show you at a glance which computer currently controls the connected device.

Recommended for home and small offices, the U215-002 supports data transfer rates up to 480 Mbps. It’s compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices, so you can continue using older peripherals while getting maximum performance from current devices.

Use the included CD to install the U215-002 on your computers. No external power supply is needed. Connect the unit to the peripheral with a USB cable, then connect the unit to your computers with the included USB A/B cables. The sharing switch supports all USB-enabled operating systems. Note: optional USB Share software is compatible with Windows XP and later and Mac OS X 10.3 and later.
