An amber light will appear beside any port with a USB device connected to it. There is one exception; when a device is just charging, the light will remain off.

Can I use it to charge my devices?

Yes, but it will charge your devices slower. It doesn't supply as much current as our hubs with dedicated charging ports (ex. ST4300U3C3).

Will it charge devices when my computer is off?

Yes, as long as the included power supply is being used.
