How is the 17 Pro different from the 15 Pro?

The 17 Pro is larger at 17.3" with 100% DCI-P3 colour, built for creative work, and its Stand+ Pro tilts flat for drawing. The 15 Pro is more compact, lighter, and brighter at 550 nits with 100% Adobe RGB.

Will it work as an extended display for my iPad?

Extended display (apps moving to the screen) requires iPad Pro with M1 chip or later on iPadOS 16+ with Stage Manager. iPad Air, mini, and older Pro models mirror only. Check Settings > General > About. Note: additional power required into the 17 Pro

Does it need external power?

The 17 Pro draws power from your host device and limits brightness to that device's output up to 90%. For maximum brightness and to use the built-in speakers additional power is required.
